Sir Victor Blank is an English businessman and philanthropist. He attended St Catherine’s College, Oxford before starting an illustrious career in the corporate world. Starting with being made the youngest partner in the history of Clifford-Turner (now Clifford Chance) at the young age of 26, he worked with some of the leading businesses in the world including what is now HSBC, the Royal Bank of Scotland and the Mirror Group Newspapers.

In 1999 he was rewarded for his successes with a knighthood in honour of his contribution to the financial industry. Sir Victor was appointed the Chairman of Lloyds TSB in 2006 and oversaw the leadership of the bank throughout the financial crisis of 2008, working closely with then Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Beyond the business world, Sir Victor is heavily involved in supporting the University of Oxford, and an array of charities throughout the country, including the Wellbeing of Women charity, the British Olympic Association, Social Mobility Foundation and the Union of Jewish Students.

We are excited to hear about all his amazing work and achievements - the huge generosity that benefits so many people in our community and beyond - including supporting JLGB.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome tonight’s very special guest, Sir Victor Blank!

For 125 years, young Jewish people have been discovering just how brilliant they can be and how they can make the world a better place through JLGB. Whether you're 8 or 18, whatever you want to be, join in and be your best self with us!
