JLGB face-to-face local activities ready to safely return
  • JLGB face-to-face local activities ready to safely return in October

After months of successful online activity, driven by our amazing young volunteer leaders, JLGB is preparing to return to face-to-face activities. As long as it’s safe and we have the all-clear, we hope to back in October. Obviously, safety is our main concern here, and if it looks like we can’t return in October, we’ll step up online activities again. Final decisions will be made in line with government legislation and National Youth Agency Guidelines in the weeks ahead.

As we prepare to come back, we wanted to thank you for your continued support and commitment, and let you into our plans for the coming year.

A new era for JLGB

We’re delighted to announce that many of the changes that have been long in the pipeline at JLGB are now coming to fruition. Lockdown has been tough in many ways but it’s also been a catalyst for upgrading and creating new systems that will streamline the way JLGB activities run at local and national level.

JLGB FUEL is the new centralised system that will power local groups, providing shared themes and resources and creating a unifying sense of purpose and amplifying our impact across the UK.

Working with our partners at ‘Big Ideas’, an entire terms worth of programmes will be available for all age brackets. Restart ‘bubble’ friendly sessions have also been created and will be launched in the coming weeks, where additional training via Zoom will be provided for all young leaders and adult volunteers.

JLGB Virtual will continue once weekly (Thursday's at 6.30pm) by popular demand, there will be many more opportunities for young leaders to step up into the running of JLGB, and a new online system of Reward and Recognition.

We’ll also be phasing in a simpler, more modern uniform of branded t-shirts (first one free with annual membership) and hoodies, and launching a new-look website to make it even easier to join and renew membership.

Keep checking back on the JLGB website for our restart dates and sign up to join your local weekly group here.

For 125 years, young Jewish people have been discovering just how brilliant they can be and how they can make the world a better place through JLGB. Whether you're 8 or 18, whatever you want to be, join in and be your best self with us!
