Henry Grunwald OBE QC is a true leader of the Jewish and British communities, best known as a Past President of the Board of Deputies, one of the founders of the Jewish Leadership Council, current President of World Jewish Relief, and Chairman of the National Holocaust Centre and Museum (Beth Shalom).

By day Henry’s profession is that of a criminal barrister, specialising in serious crime, and due to his success as a barrister, he was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1999, one of the highest honours you can achieve in the legal profession in the UK.

Henry’s communal career reads off like a list of the greatest organisations in our community, as alongside The Board, The JLC, WJR and the Holocaust Centre, he has also served as a Trustee of UJS, Chairman of Shechita UK, Trustee of the National Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, and Vice-President of the Council of Christians and Jews.

Rightfully so, for all his contributions to the Jewish community and inter-faith work relations, Henry Grunwald was appointed  Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2009 Birthday Honours.

Along with his wife Alison, Henry is the proud father of 4 children, and 7 grandchildren, which alongside his legal career and communal leadership must keep him extremely busy, and so we are delighted he found the time to meet with us this evening… Ladies and Gentleman, please welcome tonight’s honoured guest, Henry Grunwald OBE QC!

For 125 years, young Jewish people have been discovering just how brilliant they can be and how they can make the world a better place through JLGB. Whether you're 8 or 18, whatever you want to be, join in and be your best self with us!
